Does anyone have one thing important that stands out for the election.
Mine is healthcare. It is getting worse, long waits for surgery,
long waits in waiting room.s

Liberals are stating today they are defeated by the conservatives.

Man I agree with the healthcare issues. Unfortunatly I have become complasant with politicians. They all seem to be the same, no matter what their platform, colour, pamphletes, etc. I am voting for the Green Party..they will not win..but because I voted it gives me the right to complain..lmao. rolling on the floor laughing Polatics is like relgion..discussing it may become a war..lol. Good luuck to all chosing a party..hope the one who gets in is able to help our country develop better..and God bless and guide them. Chuck.thumbs up

Does it really matter, seems to me that it is often the same sh*t, different pile - not much really ever changes, always the same problems to one degree or another - regardless of who is in power. JMO thumbs up angel

wave agree and the solution is always the old point the finger - so busy assigning fault, the solutions get lost - no accountability, transparency or ownership, except when something goes right, then everyone is standing in line for the sunshine to be blown up their a$$!!!

cheering cheering JMO angel of course!!!

I honestly don't remember much about him....do remember the coffee mugs my parents had about him something to do with "fuddle duddle". I am assuming that had something to do with flipping someone the bird. I honestly don't think that there is anyone who would have the power, support, where-with-all, or determination and courage to actually stand up to the plate and get "er done, and I do not think that if there was, there are people who have the proverbial balls required to give the steadfast and loyal support that would be required. Everything appears to be a half way job and loyalties and ideologies are forever wavering and wandering - everyone is looking out for their own interests....

Wanna run for office KId? innocent

I had a school teacher tell me I should get into politics. I never had him as a teacher or even went to the school he taught in, but he knew about me from friends and through the "grapevine". laugh
He said it was because I'm honest and don't put up with BS.
It didn't bother me to take on teachers, principals or even the entire school board if I felt I was right.

Yes, I was a pain in the ass and likely gave some teachers grey hair. laugh

We are talking about the Canadian Election that was called about 2 weeks ago - please do not confuse our electoral process with that of our neighbors to the south, who have been embroiled in their election process for the the past 18 months. Here in Canada, we have 5 weeks from the time the election is called, for October 14 - so in those 5 weeks, all the campaigning etc. is done - then we vote, done , short and sweet, nice and neat - here in Canada, we get at "er, no pissing around! professor angel

You decide whether you want to shoot yourself in the foot or the head.

Which party is going to do the least amount of damage???

Politics is about money, and making money deals. Politicians (JMO) are not in it for the little people.

Health Care will always be an issue. Which Politician will do something about it???? Which politician is less of a talker and gets off their duff and actually does something positive?

Word of advise, when voting in the Quebec referendum, and you are asked which way you are going to vote..... do not, I repeat, do not say, "The only way I can remember Pareseau's name, is to think of a pair of ass holes...." grin

I am glad of one thing, at least I have more rights here to vote, than have to deal with some of the crap I dealt with before.

If you don't vote, you don't have the right to complain!
eyesthatknowwhy somewhere, Saskatchewan Canada
Oh, don't get me wrong, I have full intentions of voting, it is my right, many people before me sacrificed much in order for me to have that right, and I do dearly appreciate it. I will listen and think hard and hopefully make a good sound choice for me....I just question if my choice really makes that much of a difference???? We can all just hope for the best and think positive! applause

Oh we are not long winded like the Americans. Our elections run just a few months....... not for years on end.

American elections = blah blah blah shamrock

Canadian elections = we just called an election, hurry up and get to the election booths before they close.... OK we have like, close to 3 months of political mumbo jumbo yakity yak to listen to, and then it's over. We are not as full of hot air as our neighbors. grin

Yes, don't forget Mexico. We need the Tequila and don't need to upset the Mexicans. laugh

Wasn't it Jean Chretien who said, it is normal or okay for politicians to lie to get voted into power. I agree with all of you. The only way I can vote now is deciding who I like the least and then voting for the ones who stand a chance to not let them get in or get a majority.

I think almost all of them just see it as a way to get a nice rosy pension plan so run for office. Who cares about the people? Get the free hand out and run.

I wish Bolshevism was still around, time for the people to revolt against the stupidity we seem to be blessed with time and time again. I don't know if you folks heard, but the Minister of Agriculture...now this is a Minister of Office accountable to Parliament, made a joke about the recent deaths from the Maple Leaf Food bacteria outbreak and the Prime Minister does not call for his resignation after such callous statements the minister in charge made. They don't get my vote if they find the deaths of Canadians funny. Think about this, a Government Ministry that is in charge of the safe handling of our food supply finds it funny when it fails in doing it's job and people die from it. Cause that is the bottom line and to top it all off, the Prime Minister of the country is okay with jokes being made about it and shrugs it off.

The problem is us though...we need to be angry at this crap. We ask for more money for education, health care, seniors care and what do we get...money to the military. Maybe we should say we need more money to the military and they will put it into health care etc. Here in BC a report just came out that the homeless rate in Vancouver is growing very, very fast. I think it was something like an increase of 300% in 5 years. What did our Liberal government just do, give all the MLA's a 40% increase to their pension plans and nothing really to ease this situation. I mean to them, of giving an increase in MLA's pensions or easing the homeless situation in Vancouver, the pension increase has more importance. And not a measly 5 or 10 percent either...a whopping 40%! The reason for it, is because it attracts higher quality people to office. They expect us to believe that too. So they think we are stupid as well. I mean if that is the case, why is government getting worse and worse all the time. It is attracting greedy people who want to line their pockets with taxpayers money and don't give a hoot about you and me, is what it attracts.

As much as I agree with all your statements, the real fault lies with us. We put them there. We really need to make them accountable for their actions while governing this country.

I guess all I can do is wish you luck on voting day. Liberals, Conservatives, Greens, NDP or poison hemlock...I'll take the lesser of all the evils, pass the hemlock please.

I am not sure who I will vote for. Who ever I vote for, I will be plugging my nose, shutting my eyes, and voting for the party reluctantly. I did agree with the Conservatives on Afganistan. It was about time someone upgraded and renewed the equipment the military uses, poor sods had to use wore out antiques. But they have a vandita on the Canadian Wheat board, one of the farmer controlled marketing agencies that we have. I am not sure that I am willing to forgive the Liberals for their gun registry fiasco. Their green plan, what the hell is that? I don't like either leader of the parties above. The NDP with Jack Layton's position on abortion, same sex unions (I refuse to cal it marriage). With corrupt moral values like that, I will not be voting NDP. I have parked my vote with fringe parties before.

Thanks for putting with my rant.

Politicians are like diapers.
They are always on your ass.
They are usaully full of shit.
And they need to be changed, often.
